The weird weather continues....but this time we were thrilled! It was 70 degrees and sunny today! So we put up a baby gate out on the covered deck and played out there. I brought my computer so I could work and Finnegan kicked a ball around, colored, played with stickers and blew bubbles. Then Lorelai woke up and we decided to bring out the water color paint! They loved it. Lorelai had fun just putting water on the brush and wetting the paper. She didn't care about the paint at first, just the water. Finn did great with it. He didn't like getting messy so he was really careful.
So first we started with bubble blowing with our bubble gun.
He kept trying to blow them around after he made them with the gun. Amazing how much kids love bubbles!
Once Lorelai woke up, we got out the water color paint!
As you can see, Lorelai wasn't shy about touching the paint or the water. She wanted to be as messy as she could!
Lorelai's "picture" was just really wet (so you can see the coloring book underneath).
He was worried because he got a little bit of paint on his hand. We had to wash it off immediately.
Really concentrating hard with the tongue and everything.
This look is classic Lorelai. She was looking around to see if we were watching her as she put her entire hand in the water and then dumped it over. She is rotten!

Finnegan's first water color painting.
We used a white crayon to draw an invisible picture (you can see I wrote Finnegan's name and then he scribbled). Then we used the "magic paint" to reveal the invisible picture! His only complaint was that he couldn't see what he wrote so he didn't know how to draw good pictures. He just had to scribble.
These two are more Finnegan masterpieces. He used a sponge to make all the circles and another one to make the lines. He loved the sponges.
The next two are the ones Lorelai did. I helped her a with make sure there was paint on it. She really wanted to dip in the water AFTER she put paint on so she was washing all the paint off. Once she saw what the paint did she didn't want anymore water.
I told him to draw a rainbow and he said he didn't know how. So I drew one and he used it as a guide of what to do. He is very "by the book" and doesn't like to do something if it's not "right". So here is his perfect rainbow. When he was done he said with a huge grin, "I think you're going to want to put THIS on the fridge!" Of course it will be on the fridge!
